This was a large residential remodel for a customer that we have had the pleasure of working with before. The main focus for this job was a complete kitchen remodel and opening up the new kitchen to an adjacent fireplace room to unify the space and make entertaining much more enjoyable. A “happy accident” we discovered was an increase in natural light flowing from one space to the other.
Along with the kitchen remodel, a half bath remodel was also included. Custom cabinets, a combination of granite and butcher block tops, new hickory wood floors throughout the whole first floor and a pop of color in the tile backsplash turned this kitchen into a spacious, warm place to spend time with friends and family.
To open up the space, we removed a closet and wall dividing the fireplace room from the kitchen. We then moved and widened the opening between the rooms. By removing an outdated bulkhead which hung over the island and by changing all of the kitchen ceiling from a textured to smooth drywall finish, we made the space feel much more airy and crisp.
