This house had some extensive rot in the soffit and, as we discovered at demo, on rafter tails and even up into the roof system. We discover many interesting things on old homes, but this one had a truly unusual wooden gutter system that was built into and concealed by the soffit. Of course, over time, the water began to leak out, damaging much of the material that was surrounding it. The scope of our work included roof decking replacement, “sistering” of rafter tails, replacing soffit material and painting.
